Description
Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt published Oblique Strategies in 1975 — cryptic aphorisms designed to break creative deadlocks. Oblique Stratagems adapts this for Dungeon Masters. 106 cards across nine invisible categories — narrative, encounters, NPCs, pacing, player dynamics, world-building, tone, improvisation, and philosophy — plus one blank card, because Eno included one and the blank card is the best card. Cards range from concrete table actions ("Lower your voice") to abstract provocations ("The absence is the encounter") to permission-granting cards for DM anxieties ("You don't have to know the answer yet"). Built as an interactive web artifact with card-flip animation, draw history, and reshuffling.
